If an intake appointment is granted, we do suggest a $25 donation per pet at the time of the appointment to help pay for vaccinations and care.
The Oahu SPCA is Hawaii's first no-kill animal shelter, and will never euthanize an animal for space or time. Intake appointments are not guaranteed. As a private, community funded shelter, we have very limited space (we do NOT receive government funding requiring us to take in stray animals).
We are currently operating off of a waitlist and immediate placement may not be possible. Please provide as much information and detail as possible on your experience with the stray pet you have found, so that our team can evaluate the needs of your pet and identify fosters or required kennel space when reviewing your form. We make an effort to respond to every surrender form within 72 hours, but please be patient as the need for our services are in great demand. Be sure to check your email for initial responses or follow up.
